@X084@X05.@X0842 @X03 METAL CONTAINERS
@X08The classic pipe bomb is the best known example of a metal@X05-@X08contained
explosive@X05.@X08 Idiot anarchists take white tipped matches and cut off the match
heads@X05.@X08 They pound one end of a pipe closed with a hammer@X05,@X08 pour in the white@X05-@X08
tipped matches@X05,@X08 and then pound the other end closed@X05.@X08 This process often kills
the fool@X05,@X08 since when he pounds the pipe closed@X05,@X08 he could very easily cause
enough friction between the match heads to cause them to ignite and explode the
unfinished bomb@X05.@X08 By using pipe caps@X05,@X08 the process is somewhat safer@X05,@X08 and the
less stupid anarchist would never use white tipped matches in a bomb@X05.@X08 He would
buy two pipe caps and threaded pipe @X05(@X08fig@X05.@X08 1@X05)@X08@X05.@X08 First@X05,@X08 he would drill a hole in
one pipe cap@X05,@X08 and put a fuse in it so that it will not come out@X05,@X08 and so powder
will not escape during handling@X05.@X08 The fuse would be at least 3@X05/@X084 an inch long
inside the bomb@X05.@X08 He would then screw the cap with the fuse in it on tightly@X05,@X08
possibly putting a drop of super glue on it to hold it tight@X05.@X08 He would then
pour his explosive powder in the bomb@X05.@X08 To pack it tightly@X05,@X08 he would take a
large wad of tissue paper and@X05,@X08 after filling the pipe to the very top@X05,@X08 pack the
powder down@X05,@X08 by using the paper as a ramrod tip@X05,@X08 and pushing it with a pencil
or other wide ended object@X05,@X08 until it would not move any further@X05.@X08 Finally@X05,@X08 he
would screw the other pipe cap on@X05,@X08 and glue it@X05.@X08 The tissue paper would help
prevent some of the powder from being caught in the threads of the pipe or pipe
cap from being crushed and subject to friction@X05,@X08 which might ignite the powder@X05,@X08
causing an explosion during manufacture@X05.@X08 An assembled bomb is presented in
fig@X05.@X08 2@X05.@X08

fig@X05.@X08 2 Assembled pipe bomb@X05.@X08
This is one possible design that a mad bomber would use@X05.@X08 If@X05,@X08 however@X05,@X08
he did not have access to threaded pipe with endcaps@X05,@X08 he could always use a
piece of copper or aluminum pipe@X05,@X08 since it is easily bent into a suitable
position@X05.@X08 A major problem with copper piping@X05,@X08 however@X05,@X08 is bending and folding
it without tearing it@X05;@X08 if too much force is used when folding and bending copper
pipe@X05,@X08 it will split along the fold@X05.@X08 The safest method for making a pipe bomb
out of copper or aluminum pipe is similar to the method with pipe and endcaps@X05.@X08
First@X05,@X08 one flattens one end of a copper or aluminum pipe carefully@X05,@X08 making sure
not to tear or rip the piping@X05.@X08 Then@X05,@X08 the flat end of the pipe should be folded
over at least once@X05,@X08 if this does not rip the pipe@X05.@X08 A fuse hole should be
drilled in the pipe near the now closed end@X05,@X08 and the fuse should be inserted@X05.@X08
Next@X05,@X08 the bomb@X05-@X08builder would fill the bomb with a low order explosive@X05,@X08 and pack
it with a large wad of tissue paper@X05.@X08 He would then flatten and fold the other
end of the pipe with a pair of pliers@X05.@X08 If he was not too dumb@X05,@X08 he would do this
slowly@X05,@X08 since the process of folding and bending metal gives off heat@X05,@X08 which
could set off the explosive@X05.@X08 A diagram is presented below@X05:@X08

A CO2 cartridge from a B@X05.@X08B gun is another excellent container for
a low@X05-@X08order explosive@X05.@X08 It has one minor disadvantage@X05:@X08 it is time consuming
to fill@X05.@X08 But this can be rectified by widening the opening of the cartridge
with a pointed tool@X05.@X08 Then@X05,@X08 all that would have to be done is to fill the
CO2 cartridge with any low@X05-@X08order explosive@X05,@X08 or any of the fast burning fuel@X05-@X08
oxodizer mixtures@X05,@X08 and insert a fuse@X05.@X08 These devices are commonly called
@X05"@X08crater makers@X05"@X08@X05.@X08
A CO2 cartridge also works well as a container for a thermit incendiary
device@X05,@X08 but it must be modified@X05.@X08 The opening in the end must be widened@X05,@X08 so
that the ignition mixture@X05,@X08 such as powdered magnesium@X05,@X08 does not explode@X05.@X08 The
fuse will ignite the powdered magnesium@X05,@X08 which@X05,@X08 in turn@X05,@X08 would ignite the
thermit@X05.@X08
The previously mentioned designs for explosive devices are fine for
low@X05-@X08order explosives@X05,@X08 but are unsuitable for high@X05-@X08order explosives@X05,@X08 since the
latter requires a shockwave to be detonated@X05.@X08 A design employing a smaller
low@X05-@X08order explosive device inside a larger device containing a high@X05-@X08order
explosive would probably be used@X05.@X08 It would look something like@X05:@X08

@X08If the large high explosive container is small@X05,@X08 such as a CO2 cartridge@X05,@X08
then a segment of a hollow radio antenna can be made into a low@X05-@X08order pipe bomb@X05,@X08
which can be fitted with a fuse@X05,@X08 and inserted into the CO2 cartridge@X05.@X08
